Your committee has been considering the club’s position in light of the statement from the BCGBA and the latest government briefings up to and including Tuesday 23rd March 2020.
It is clear from the advice that we will not be able to provide our planned social events this year, or allow access to the green for individuals to practice, so it is with regret we have to inform members that with immediate effect the bowling green will remain closed until further notice.
Although bowling has ceased maintaining the green must go on in order for us to be able to resume playing the game we enjoy in surroundings we have become accustomed to. The green keeping team are working on a rota to ensure work essential to keeping the green in a good condition can be carried out.
At the AGM we announced trips that we had pencilled in for the season. They were: a return trip to Guys Thatched Hamlet on 6th June; a new venue at the Black Horse, Croston on 1st August; and return visit to The Lever Club on 15th September. At the moment we are being super optimistic and not cancelling any of them, although the 6th June is looking very unlikely.
Check the website for updates as the season progresses
Hopefully you are finding other interests to keep you going until we can all be together again to resume bowling with friends.
Best wishes, your committee
