Mixed Pairs. Saturdays 2023

Mixed Pairs. Played every Saturday through the season

You do not have to enter for this competition and there is no extra fee on top of the usual £2 paid each Saturday. All members who play on a Saturday afternoon will automatically be included in a Mixed Pairs League.

Each week the scores for each pair will be recorded and accrued through the season. So each player in the pair will be credited with the pair’s score for that week. At the end of the season the lady and man players with the highest accumulated scores will be declared our club’s mixed pairs champions for the year.

This achievement will be well earned with the winners having played consistently well through the season and with a variety of partners.

Coronation Cup 2023 Sponsored by AS Wills

Coronation Cup

Sponsored by AS Wills

Introduced to the club by Alan Steele, a long standing club member.

Thanks to Alan, we are pleased to offer this new and exciting open competition in our programme for 2023.

The goal of this competition is to bring together experienced competition players, and developing players, in partnerships which will grow the level of bowling skills in the club.

Played on 20 Sundays throughout the season from 16th April, with the first matches starting at 10:00 am.

Format: The competition will be a pairs knockout competition to open all members. The first-round winners will proceed into a Division One competition, and the losers will proceed into a Division Two competition.

Competition Draw: Each Sunday a draw will be take place to form pairs, and then matches. The draw will aim to achieve a relatively even spread of skill in each match.

Entry fee: £2 per week.

Prizes:

  • Weekly cash prizes will be awarded by the sponsor to winners in both divisions.
  • Each week points will be awarded for attendance on the day and progression through the competition. Points will accrue in league tables to determine Division One and Division Two League Champions by the end of the season and prizes will be awarded

Competitors: For this competition to be viable we need a minimum of 40 players to register for the competition. Competitors are not expected to enter on all 20 Sundays, however we think having at least 40 players on the register should ensure an average of 30+ players each week, making it a worthwhile competition.
