Coronation Cup 2024 Sponsored by AS Wills

Coronation Cup

Sponsored by AS Wills

Introduced to the club by Alan Steele, a long standing club member.

Thanks to Alan, we are pleased to offer this new and exciting open competition in our programme for 2023.

The goal of this competition is to bring together experienced competition players, and developing players, in partnerships which will grow the level of bowling skills in the club.

Played on 20 Sundays throughout the season from 16th April, with the first matches starting at 10:00 am.

Format: The competition will be a pairs knockout competition to open all members. The first-round winners will proceed into a Division One competition, and the losers will proceed into a Division Two competition. Weekly prizes will be awarded

Competition Draw: Each Sunday a draw will be take place to form pairs, and then matches. The draw will aim to achieve a relatively even spread of skill in each match.

Entry fee: £2 per week.

Competitors: For this competition to be viable we need a minimum of 40 players to register for the competition. Competitors are not expected to enter on all 20 Sundays, however we think having at least 40 players on the register should ensure an average of 30+ players each week, making it a worthwhile competition.
