Penketh Bowling Club Competitions 2020

WE REGRET TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE COMPETITION PROGRAMME FOR THIS YEAR HAS BEEN SUSPENDED DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS

2019: Our thanks go to everyone who supported last years’ competitions. We averaged 20 entries per competition, receiving £503 in entry fees. £325 was paid out in prize money; we also paid for the trophies to be engraved and the honours boards to be updated

2020: We were planning to run a similar programme to last year however those plans have now been suspended. We have some ideas about running club competitions later in the year should the restrictions that have been imposed for the protection of our health be relaxed by the government. In the meantime we hope you find other interests that will sustain you through this difficult time and you’ll all be looking forward and ready to go as soon as we are able to resume normal service. Take care of yourselves.

Advisory Panel

The Club Committee has approved the formation of a panel of three people to support Mike Nencini, Fixtures Secretary, with the running of the club competition programme. The panel will be known as the ‘Penketh Bowling Club Competition Advisory Panel’ with the following Terms of Reference.

The purpose of the panel is to provide advice, guidance and ideas to the Fixtures Secretary on the running of club competitions.

The panel will consist of three members with experience in the running of competitive bowling events.

Terms of Reference
Assist the Fixtures Secretary to:
1. Develop an annual programme of competitions that is attractive to club members
2. Produce a set of rules and guidelines governing the running of club competitions
3. Fairly apply the rules in the running of club competitions
4. Arbitrate in disputes arising from competitions

We are pleased to announce that Alan Steele, Anne Lewis and Bill Jenks have agreed to serve on the panel. All have significant experience of competitive bowling.
